Joy on the Move

A NEW CROWN, A COMMUNITY TDOV, AND A MEDIA HOME.

From a Hawaiian queen heading to Thailand to trans people holding each other close on TDOV, to a media platform finally having a home it built for itself — this week reminded us what it looks like when trans and queer people of color are not waiting for permission. Not from mainstream media. Not from institutions. Not from anyone. Here's what we're celebrating.

Lo Colby Is Taking the Aloha Spirit to Thailand

Lo Colby was just crowned Miss International Queen USA 2026 — and she's not slowing down. The Hawaiian-born, LA-raised queen is heading to Thailand to compete in Miss International Queen, the world's largest trans pageant. She'll make history as only the second Hawaiian queen ever to advance to a Grand Slam competition.

There's something about watching someone carry their home with them into rooms that weren't built with them in mind. Lo Colby is doing exactly that — and she's doing it in a crown that fits.

This TDOV, the Community Showed Up for Itself

Trans Day of Visibility looked the way it always does when trans people are left to define it on their own terms: photos shared, memories passed down, and community organizations putting mutual aid funds on the table.

Because visibility without resources isn't visibility — it's performance. This TDOV, the community knew the difference. Joy and care showed up together, the way they always have when trans people of color are leading.

That's the tradition.

POLISHwithadelina.com is live.

Built for stories that don't ask permission. Community that doesn't need mainstream validation. Coverage that centers the people who have always been worth centering.

POLISH isn't here to chase traffic. It's here to cultivate community — and now it has a place to do it from.

We made something real. Come see it.

Every week, POLISH with Marie-Adélina gathers the moments, milestones, and movements that remind us why we fight — and why we celebrate. Joy is not a distraction from the work. It is the work.
